Gregory Guerrand, a specialist in index investments at THEAM, has agreed to answer a few questions about the Low Carbon 100 Europe Theam Easy UCITS exchange-traded fund (ETF).
Euronext, the eurozone’s leading exchange, today announced a major change in the methodology used for its Low Carbon 100 Europe Index®, revolutionising the traditional approach to assessing companies’ CO2 emissions. This new method is based on a more efficient means of measuring the energy performance of businesses, and offers investors a unique index-based solution.
According to Sébastien Denry, Investment Specialist ETF at THEAM, the Low Carbon 100 Europe THEAM Easy UCITS ETF tracker, created in 2008, provides immediate access to major European companies at the cutting edge of their sector in terms of reducing CO2 emissions.
So what is “smart beta”? A mere revolt against traditional indices? No, Sir, it’s a true revolution – the factor investing revolution. The questioning of allegiance to traditional indices, which until now were used broadly despite some serious drawbacks, has only just begun, but the stakes are already high and this could bring structural and long-lasting changes to the way investors make strategic allocations.
THEAM offers investment solutions across a broad spectrum of underlying assets (equities, bonds, commodities, volatility, currencies...) through an extensive range of investment styles, from pure Beta to Alpha.
