Assayag Arié

Mr. Assayag is the CEO of Nexar Capital Group, founded in April 2009. Prior to that, he was the Global Head of Hedge Funds for SG Asset Management Alternative Investments ("SG AM"). Mr. Assayag joined SG Asset Management in 1999 to launch SG AM’s Hedge Fund platform. His team has won several industry awards including Institutional Firm of the Year 2005 (InvestHedge) and Best Hedge Fund of the Year 2008 in Volatility (Eurohedge, HF Review).

Previously, from 1994 to 1999, he was a founding partner and Head of FX Derivatives at Commerz Financial Products (a subsidiary of Commerz Bank). In 1994, he was Head of EMS FX Derivatives at Citibank in New York. Prior to that, from 1985 to 1993, Mr. Assayag was at Société Générale and participated in building the Bank’s global derivatives business, working in Tokyo as Head of Asia from 1987 to 1990 and working in Chicago as head of US exchange activity from 1990 to 1993. Mr. Assayag holds a degree in Engineering and Applied Mathematics from Ecole Centrale of Paris (ECP).
