The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) has named Beliz Chappuie as CalPERS’ Chief Auditor, effective July 31, 2015.
Chappuie replaces Margaret Junker, who is retiring. Margaret has our sincere thanks for her 16 years of distinguished service at CalPERS. She will be missed as both a respected colleague and as a friend.
Chappuie comes to CalPERS from the Department of Finance Office of State Audits and Evaluations where she was responsible for performance, compliance, financial audits, and the implementation of legislative reforms. Most recently, Beliz led a team that implemented the law eliminating 400 redevelopment agencies in California. Chappuie is a CPA and has a master’s degree in Business Administration from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in Turkey.
"Beliz brings a proven track record in auditing management. We welcome her and her deep experience in audit services to our CalPERS financial team," said Matt Jacobs, CalPERS General Counsel.
